996 Fairing Bolt Kits - Decent Source ?

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by Dibble, Feb 28, 2024.

  1. Hi

Bar eBay does anyone know a decent source for a complete (Dzus) fairing bolt kit, bike is mid restoration and the panels due back from the painters soon, will need the kit to put it back together.

    Any suggestions welcome ...

  2. Are you restoring close to original as possible? If so, get OE fairing bolts and well nuts from Moto Rapido or Snells. Also buy Dzus fasteners from them but note they will be bright nickel. You can get them plated yellow passivate at a great place close to you. If this is what you are after pm me and I will send over the platers details. They have done my 748 and 996 bikes with excellent results and are very reasonable.

  4. PRO-TWINS have the Passivated originals in stock. Not cheap. but look great

  5. This is where I must stay true to my mantra that I'd rather crap in my hands and clap than give them any of my money, but thanks for the heads up.

  7. Yes please, 12 best ones please, pm me for payment, you're a star.

  8. Ooof, they're the fancy super light ones, so light they float up to the ceiling. And what a ceiling.

  9. I'm sure you know, but don't forget the nylon washers that are specific to these Dzus fasteners (internal diameter is fractionally smaller than the rib where the helix starts, so in theory means you'll never lose one)
