Hi, I want to replace them funny rubber rawplug things that hold the fairing on, or not as is the case on my 750 ss. But what are they and what size do I need. Also where do I get them from, other than Ducati. Thanks Darren
Thats the kiddies, thanks for that, now ordering. I think I will get 20, cause I know I wil lose some. I think some judiscious use of some form of corrosion inhibiter is required, as long as it doesn't stop them gripping. The belly pan section ones are siezed solid. I have to remove the fairing as a whole unit. Doh
Many on here will be able to relate to your seized wellnuts - if you can't free them by squirt or carefully gripping the (usually brass) threaded insert which usually parts from the rubber while turning the screw, the trick is to carefully cut away all the rubber surrounding it and then the seized insert will (9 times out of 10) pass through the fixing hole.
I bought a box of 50 from here..........Rawl nuts by Rawlpug (Rawlnut) Rawl nuts at Toolfast Direct ....the Masonmate ones are just as good as Rawlnuts...........and you pay about 31 pence each for them so who cares if you have to replace a couple every so often... AL
