Fairing grommet

  1. Anyone know of a replacement grommet that fits in the headlight fairing and the little prong on the side fairing pushes into . Ducati call it a Vibration damper pad p/n 764.1.084.1A but was hoping someone might have found a substitute .

  2. I looked everywhere for a substitute (thought I'd save a few quid) but eventually decided to bite the bullet and go to my main dealer - Coventry Ducati - for the original items. Cost me about £0.50 each although I must have spent around £50 in petrol visiting all my local grommet suppliers ... Another lesson learned :) !

  3. Ill ring them . Cheers.

  4. Cheap as from Ducati. Glue the bugger in too.

  5. I bought something similar from JHP but it was the one that joins the Tail piece to the rear subframe.
It has the ability to slide up and down in a bracket to adjust the riding position.
Like you it cost more in petrol to go fetch it although they offered to post it.
Good excuse to go and look round the shop mind.

  6. As I've mentioned before - dont automatically discount main dealers, they can surprise you.

I've made that mistake myself in the past, but a phone call costs nothing, and at least you have a pricing datum.

  7. I also found the rear sprocket nuts to be 50% cheaper at main dealer than anywhere else. I fully agree that a quick call to Ducati is now the best first course of action ...

  8. Yes, they have come a long way, no doubt about that

  9. I needed both the above grommets , email to Moto Rapido - sorted . I also put a dab of super glue on the fairing one .
