1260 Fairing Side Panel Removal

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Bumpkin, Oct 9, 2018.

  1. Does anyone have any insight into how to do this without causing damage. There seems to be significant difference between the 1260 and the 1200 in this regard and I'm wary of causing damage by forcing things with the use of the stickle-brick Velcro tabs to partially secure these panels.

I have the 1200 workshop manual as a starting point but it's blatantly not the same.

Thanks in advance for any guidance on this.

  2. It's actually very similar, there's the two screws securing the outer panels, same as the 1200. The inner panels have, I think, three screws along the top, as well as the Velcro, and the single rubber mounted screw at the bottom. It's all very clear when you remove the outer panels, just be careful how you part the Velcro, the pads very easily pull off the bodywork.

  3. Thank you, will have a look when I get the chance. Time is a rare commodity for me at the moment, when I looked I couldn't really see how despite having looked at the 1200 manual (which is frankly pretty poor in comparison to others).
