In my efforts to reduce the effects of my old injuries when riding I identified that perhaps I need to be more comfortable on a bike in lots of ways. I've always struggled to find boots I like in terms of being supple enough to change gear but warm in the colder weather and offering good protection should the worst happen. I like riding during the summer in a Pair of short Alpinestars trainer boot style boots I have, but they are not warm enough in colder weather so I wear an ancient pair of Gaerne longer boots which are falling to pieces and a little uncomfortable but really supple in the right places to change gear. Last week I noticed somebody really close to me selling a pair of Falco Mixto 4 Adventure boots on EBAY which he'd only worn once. https://www.tradeinn.com/motardinn/en/falco-mixto-4-adv-motorcycle-boots/138958732/p They were cheap enough to take a punt on and actually look like they have never been worn. I gave them a good blast of Shoe sanitising spray though, obviously. I thought they would only be of any use on my M1000, and then when I finally get the Multistrada I want, but thought I might as well give them a go on my 999 today. I needn't have worried, they are really flexible, warm, comfy, and I was perfectly able to change gear on the 999. They are also far nicer to wear off the bike than either of the other pairs. I'm really impressed with them.
