749 False Neutral Between 4th & 5th.... I Think O:-)

  1. :Cold::)Evening all....

    As you may of worked out by the Title i keep slipping or shifting into a false neutral between 4th / 5th...... The i thinkbit is because it is always when i start to pick up a bit of pace & im never really counting the gears :Smuggrin:...
    My question is ? Does anybody else suffer with False neutrals on thed 749s & if so how have you improved it, i had thought of adjusting the gear lever to make it point down more so i dont have to flick my foot as far up bank makingit more positive just incase it is my boots restricting travel as they are not the most flexible.... :)
    I concerned im going to pop it when it over Revs :Bawling:

  2. You've answered your own question: adjust the gear lever position so that you don't need as much foot movement to change up :)

    That worked for me on my 999S :upyeah:

  3. Cheers for that.. That is what i will do then :upyeah:

  4. Guzzi owners are alway asking " what you mean you do not have neutral between each gear?"

  5. Did this work? I suspect it's not that but hope it worked out for you.

    I had this on another Ducati when racing. It was the internal gear selector. You can get them from eBay for a out £20. Be nice to know if you did sort it

  6. Morning...

    Yes this did help & has made gear selection much more positive & i have not had a Rev ... Fcuk Moment since.... It did take a couple of trys to get the throw & position correct but i just ended up taking an allen key for the selector out on a run with me ...

    Cheers

  7. Chain is another thing to check. When I get a few FNs I jnow its time to adjust

  8. What if it was a "real" neutral? ;)

  9. If you are finding a real neutral between 4th and 5th...well done
