My local dealer, P&H told me about this before xmas. Last Chance Ducati 1299 Once there gone there gone.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
This can't be right. They would make more noise than this and have something already lined up. So, Ducati Aylesbury will be telling customers "sorry, 959 is the biggest sports bike we can sell you"?
Its correct from my understanding. Ducati had to pre-register with the DVLA the 1299 that were imported for this year to get around the Euro 4 regs and there was only a limited number, once they were run out there's no more.
Two hundred across the UK dealers this year and that's it. Was told it's approx 4 per dealer. There's idiots putting anniversary stickers on the 959 so doubt it'll hurt sales much this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Yep this is true. There is a V4 rumoured to show up mid 2018. All speculation at this stage. 1299 doesn't meet Euro 4 so production is no longer. The 1199/1299 have also run long enough for a change to be on the cards. Dealers preach that the 1299 is the last big twin superbike they'll make meaning demand will be high and values may be stronger in the used market.
Went to my dealer the other day, they've only got two left and once they've sold that's it. Surely Ducati aren't going to miss out on potential sales and will release a replacement sooner than mid 2018?
I spoke to Ducati customer services recently and they confirmed the above FYI There's a new model inbound. And that's the last of the 1299's. My dealer told me this also when I purchased my 1299.
Look forward to the new model, but shall steer clear for a year and let others iron out the initial issues and gremlins.
