Any idea how long these take to arrive? Shipped international post 23rd Oct... Still waiting impatiently
Same here - I ordered mine on 18th Oct. Their website does say they need 3-4 days to process and then the ducs have to get over here so......... My worry is that the Customs man now has the package in his storeroom and the dreaded invitation card is going to arrive at the house. A friend recently bought something from the USA and was stung for the tax plus a £30 processing fee as well? WTF!? Mark H
Happened to me....orders to the value over 100£ incur customs charges of close to 30£..... That's almost a third of the value going to Her Majesty's tax authorities....next time I'll send it to a friend in the states and ask him to 0 value it for me!
I have had a look at Fatducs web site and read with interest their article about O2 manipulators and their application. They say that Ducati overcame the issues on later models that have the Siemens ECU fitted. I have just bought a new 11MY Multistrada and would appreciate any words of wisdom as to wether or not there is any advantage in purchasing a Fatduc O2 manipulator, or indeed what Model Year the ECU was changed. Thanks folks.
Interesting but I can't find the article on the Fatducs (Performance Boulevard?) website - could you post a link to it? When I ordered my set of mainpulators (for a 2012 which isn't clever at low revs even if it has a Siemens ECU) I told them the year and they never came back and said it wasn't needed? Look forward (or maybe not ) to reading the article. All the best, Mark
THEY HAVE ARRIVED....so excited...but must carry on working....I could stop building this wall...come on.... rain
Thanks for the link - I was looking on the Fatduc site..... The article is dated 2009 ie before the 1200 came out so I'm guessing it's talking about other models? I know there are plenty of post on this and other forums that rate the Fatducs and reckon they sort out the low down rev issue so I'll give them a try and see. All the best, Mark H
the multi hasn't used the Siemens ECU. been on Mitsubishi since day one. There have been software updates along the way though.
I found the fat ducs made a difference, albeit a smallish one! Putting on a de cat pipe made a huge difference, bike became smoother and used loads less fuel 38mpg up to 42-44mpg. I believe it's the exhaust valve that is to blame! Will be interesting to see how twin spark plugs will improve the smoothness on the 2013 model.
Ok. Finally fitted the Fatducs this morning. Took about 3 minutes and no tools. Nice and small. True plug n play. Well, it's better than before, but it's not right, so come the spring I will have the ecu worked on. Spec LV decat, standard end can (seriously loud now) and Dna high flow air filter. Genuine 158mph on speedo, bolt upright on with screen set high. Real speed probably 145/6. Before decat etc max indicated speed was 145, same tarmac and it seemed laboured. Bike revs easier and didn't need the airscrews adjusting.
Good to know your findings are similar to mine! At least I know I'm not imagining things I think a visit to Chris at CJS will be your solution albeit an expensive one!
Thought I'd add my 2p worth here. I've just fitted FatDucs (purchased secondhand from Steveb123 - thank you!) to my 2011 1200S (standard exhaust) and they have made a huge difference. I can now pull away smoothly from anything above 2,000 rpm so that now, roundabouts and town traffic are actually a pleasure to negotiate and no longer something to be feared. Clearly, everyone's bike is slightly different from a low rev fuelling perspective, but mine was terrible and now everything is rosy! Very happy!
