Ducati UK will attend the MCN festival of biking on the 13-14 May with an unprecedented sixty-five display and demonstrator motorcycles.

The selection of bikes will consist of three separate fleets, one from the Ducati UK roadshow and two shipped over from Italy that will include the Multistrada Enduro experience and the XDiavel experience.

The Multistrada Enduro experience course is a dedicated off road riding course and has to date only been available in Italy. The fleet is made up of fifteen Multistrada Enduro specifically prepared for off-road...

Had a crazy couple of days at the Nurburgring this weekend on the BMW with a group of mates in shiny cars. On Sunday they were running the combined Nordschleife and GP circuit which was pretty awesome and something I have wanted to do for a while. Unfortunately it is not the full GP circuit missing out the bottom section with the really fast left hander coming up the hill but it is still enough to get a good run at it.

The track was super busy and loads of crashes meant they would close it then it would be even more busy as everybody tried to get laps in once it opened again. Just as I was getting keyed into the BMW after riding the R6 for the last few months this idiot pulled out on me without looking in his mirrors. He nearly pulls out into the Porsche in front of me so I should have spotted that he was dangerous but that's easy to say in hindsight. Being a road there was no apologies from the driver since he did not want to admit blame. The police however had other ideas since...

I had a rare afternoon to myself today, so decided to have a proper go of cleaning the bike. I've done over 3000 miles since I got my 848 last December, despite some highlights, the majority of these miles where commuting on damp, salt covered, horrible roads (once I even got caught out in the snow - not fun ). I've never really ridden through winter before, so was slightly apprehensive about salt damage. However, I liberally applied ACF50 when I bought the bike, used it liberally throughout the dark months, and crossed fingers.

The result... huge relief when I took the fairings off again today and got to work cleaning. I'm sure the OCD detailers would still have another day of cleaning to do (I only gave the exhaust a quick going over with Autosol where its visible with fairings on for example - sacrilege, I know), but I think it's come up absolutely brilliantly and I couldn't spot a single bit of actual corrosion. Very happy - I love ACF50

Does anybody think it would be good to have a small sticker to put on the bike, say on the windscreen, that shows you are a forum member? Then on meets, ride outs and track days you could know others that are on the forum?

Race 1
Shakey started from pole but championship leader Leon Haslam got the better of the Be Wiser Ducati rider going into Old Halls Bend. Despite sticking with Leon throughout the race Shakey was unable to make a pass and eventually brought his Panigale home for his first podium of the season.

Glenn Irwin was battling for 4th at one point, managing to stay on his bike after a huge moment but lost ground and finished in 9th. John ‘Hopper’ Hopkins started in 12th but dropped back to 14th after a coming together with Brookes.

Joe Collier again showed dominant form in Round 3 of the Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup at Oulton Park with a hat-trick of pole, fastest lap and race win in both races.
Race 1
Pole-sitter Joe Collier’s charge to his 4th victory out of 5 races was temporarily put on hold during Race 1 at Oulton Park. The Red Flag was shown when several riders crashed out unhurt at Hizzy’s Chicane following a water leak from Jonathan Railton’s (Boast Plumbing) bike.

As the lights went out a second time, Collier kept his position into Old Hall Corner and went on to pull a 2 second gap over the rest of the field by the end of Lap 2 of the 5-lap restart race. Collier finally took the chequered flag in commanding fashion completing a hat-trick of pole, fastest lap and race win.

Well, today is my 60th. My sons have clubbed together and got us a VIP Hospitality package for this years MotoGP at Silverstone. Cant wait, breakfast, hot buffet, free drinks and wine over the 3 days, paddock passes, meet and greet the teams, garage tour etc. Really looking forward to this. Who said getting old is boring...

I bought myself a bit of a classic last week and my 1st non Ducati in about 5 years.

I've made some financial decisions to allow me to bring retirement forward a few years, so a new bike is not on the radar for 2 - 3 years. I have wanted a bit of a project for a while as my bikes don't need anything doing to them and I do enjoy spinning the spanners. I was looking at a classic Ducati on here, but it didn't come to pass, so what do I buy?

I do like the Scrambler Urban Enduro, but it's still a new bike, so won't need much doing to it.

So I decided to go for a bit of a classic.

916?, 999?. Well I already have sport bikes and It would have to be an R or SPS and I dodn't want to spend that kind of money at this point in time.
Honda VTR SP1. A bike I've always liked, but another twin sportsbike.
'98 R1, early Fireblade, again, sports bikes.

I've finally run out of patience with my second Panigale and traded in my 1299. A whole slew of reasons led to my decision. But let's just leave it as you'll struggle to find anyone who has drunk more coffee at their dealer and utilised the warranty more on an 899 and 1299. After the 899 I thought I'd used my share of bad luck. However, the universe had other ideas.

It was a disappointing decision to have to make on what was the bike I had dreamt of owning since I was 6. A decision made easier though by my work life being too busy, to foresee getting near a track this year.

I was all set to buy a new 1200 DVT then I had a full day on an S last week with sunshine and dry roads. I'd ridden the 1299 and 1299S lots and lots and never thought the suspension on the S was worth the premium. In fact I felt the same about the S1000RR.

Before I start I want to apologise for any typos as have to head off to work soon but I've had some good news today but only after having a terrible time with my dealer and in particular the service team they have. Cut a long story short (yeah right), I decided that I wanted to have the Enduro pack fitted to my Ducati 1200 Enduro and also have the wider side stand base plate. I paid cash up front and was told to bring the bike in when the first service was due. They told me the bike would be with the service team for approx five hours to do the service and fit the new parts. I then enquired, could I have a courtest bike from them whilst they carried out the work but only to be told they didnt have any spare bikes!!!

Anyway, when I did take the bike in, it took them two days to fit the parts and they also forgot to order the foot stand base plate. I didn't get the bike back for another day as I was at work (the two days after taking the bike in). So all in all, I didnt...

Think that's all I can say really after my first ride on my new ( to me ) 1200 S. Wow
Due to recent weather issues since having my new "toy" delivered , frustratingly not been able to get out on the bike, then today the weather broke....... amazing is all I can say. So, after a few weeks of waiting, I picked up my new 1299 today from P&H in Crawley. Absolutely love it, and the service from Marcus and the team at P&H was great as well!

I've not ridden a Ducati before, not even a test ride. I bought it based on reviews, feedback from other riders and professional reviews and other stuff that I personally look for in a bike. I'm not a big guy (only 5'7) but I'm amazed how much room there is on the bike when riding, it's not at all cramped! It's actually even more spacious than a previous (2005) ZX10R, which had loads of room (for a shorty like me) and was really comfy on long distance road trips. Gearbox is great and the brakes feel really strong! When everything is bedded in, I'm sure it will be even more impressive! As it was my first time on the bike, P&H recommended I start off in wet mode and work my way up in due course, I'm fine with that as I can't push the bike till the running in period is completed anyway, so happy to trundle round...

After 17 years of riding sports bikes, mainly Ducati, I've now took the plunge and tried something new. 2014 Gen II Diavel Carbon, with full Termi system, came via Ducati Manchester.

It took some very clever man maths, but, I've been able to keep the 749r which will be semi retired.

Did a few mile on the Diavel today, great to ride, but feels strange ... but in a good way.

The Termi' sound awesome.

A few bits of carbon planned, then just enjoy the summer on a my new bike.
