For Sale My 1098s With Numerous R Parts
Only for sale due to new Ducati V4S order.
This 2007 1098S is a great bike. It came from the Sales Manager at Snell (Bryan) last July who had owned it and cherished virtually from new. It is currently fitted with full Xerox period livery and comes with a full set of OEM 1098S fairings/cowl and 1 piece Carbon undertray (very rare) It has carbon rear mudguard, front mudguard, exhaust covers, heal guards, clutch cover, dash set and so on.
It also has the R hand made alloy tank (£2500) and the R Carbon Fibre mono seat. We have fitted the TOCE 4 piece rear slash cans which sound and look lovely, we have the OEM cans in their original box too! It has numerous other parts/spares. Now with 8300 miles on her and brand new gold centred Brembo front discs (£500 fitted) she is a really first class Ducati wanting for nothing.
Price £10k

Pete Boast Flat Track School Mega Day Out
Brilliant day in Lincolnshire yesterday, can't wait to go back, cannot emphasise enough how much faster it feels and how physically demanding I found it, learned so much, the patience shown by the instructors I never felt pressured considering I'm new back on a bike again, everbody benefited from yesterday, one other thing it doesn't look a big arena but it feels plenty big, if it's good enough for Hickman, plater, Martin, boast etc etc honestly 100% recommend this no matter what your level...smiles everywhere. -
Arquebus Update
I'm sure that many of you realise that AL/Arquebus has not been on the forum for a while now. A number of reasons for that but the main one being that he was subject to some trolling at the time, which wasn't deserved and to compound that he's not been very well of late.
Anyway, like many on here I like AL a lot and have a lot of time for him. He was very insightful on many occasions and spotted some issues that either I'd not seen or hadn't realised the seriousness of (some of you will know what I am talking about here and apologies for those that don't, but I'm not at liberty to expand on that).
I have been in fairly regular contact over the past few weeks and months and though things did seem a tad desperate over Xmas things seem to and hopefully have improved though it's still not perfect.
I've tried to entice him back to the fold and I've just received this..........
"As I said, I doubt if I will come back , although I will be happy to see any of ‘my mates’ if we ever... -
939 Hyperstrada I've Bought A Bike For A Ride To Italy
I'm off to Italy in September with a group of friends, 10 in total. It should be a good trip, leisurely, taking in some of the famous Alpine passes on the way there and back. It totals 10 days with a couple of days staying in Venice and a trip to the Ducati museum.
But what to take? The only thing I have that I could practiably do the trip on is the Streetfighter S, but it wouldn't be ideal. I haven't yet reached the ripe old age where I'm considering joining the pipe and slippers brigade and going for a full tourer.
My criteria was -
Practical
Reasonably comfortable
Flickable for the Alpine passes
Decent value for money, around £5k if possible, maybe a little more.
Will take luggage
Would be a bonus if I could use it for things other than my holiday. Maybe for a little weekend hoon-a-ry.
Being a Ducati wasn't a prerequisite, but it'd be nice.
So I looked at Tuonos, Monsters, 848 Streetfighters, various Japanese... -

Baby Pani Does Cartagena
@bradders
This wee bike is great tbh.
I appreciate this example has had coin invested in suspension and been on a diet, but all the reviews where words like "rail" and "nimble" are spot on. Usually I'll get off a bike and there's something that needs sorting, ie turn in, mid-corner wrestle, runs wide, etc etc. I jumped off this and it just does the biz. Read the internet and previous Ducati's seemed to need different yokes, longer swing arms, flat rockers etc to make 'em work on track, the Pani, just appears to do the do, at least at my very humble level.
Power is probably subjective, for me there's plenty, it delivers it in a very manageable and liner manner, the hybrid MTS engineed bike is ace, with your typical/lovable Ducati mid-range boom box.
Cartagena is probably not the best circuit to make a like for like comparison power wise, however it's certainly not a slow bike and palpably faster than an 848.
Bad bits;
Vibby pegs - possibly due to the proximity to the exhaust.

Panigale V4 Unveiling At Snell Performance, Alton
Popped down to Snell Performance to see the V4 tonight. I must admit that whilst I was waiting for the R I'm getting some naughty thoughts about trading in the BMW.
I havn't been out on it but it feels very similar to the Panigale but probably a bit more supportive in the tank which is one of the things that makes the V2 difficult for some people to get used to. You're not quite so high on the bike as the V2. It sounds crazy good even just at low revs, 14,000rpm will be nuts. It's a loud bugger like the V2 which puts me off a bit, one of the reason I've kept the BMW is so I know I have something that will pass all the noise regs without filling it with baffles. I'd like to get it tested to see if it will be difficult to get through noise testing, I'm guessing the race exhaust is going to be louder than thunder
The screen and controls are seriously well designed, Apple quality intuitive options with nice diagrams showing you what all the suspension and other settings are doing. -

1200 DVT Now, That's A Customer Service!
Hi all,
Last September, I had a breakdown on A-27, the radiator hose split (before the recall came up) and I was left with a smokey bike on hard shoulder. Called AA (via ducati assistance) and took 15min to come and take the bike. P&H took 3 days to fix it, updating me with info every day. Bike was delivered washed and spotless as new again.
I did not complain, was already happy with good service received from the moment of the first call.
Answered a Ducati questionnaire and also had a call from Bologna to confirm that I was happy with the service received, answering a good review for ducati assistance and P&H Crawley.
Yesterday, totally not expected, a package delivered from Bologna. (I haven't ordered anything, WTH??)
Well, surprised that was a letter from Ducati apologizing for the inconvenience back in September.
Now, is that a manufacturer who value their customers or not?

Back To Ducati.....
Evening all,
I have spent the last few months keeping an eye out for a new bike, keeping a close eye on this forum (which has kept me motivated), and finally handed over some cash.
For a 1998 750ss
I have come full circle!
My first bike was a 1994 Monster, great condition but being a 600 i just wanted more power.... But it served me well including a trip around northern Italy.
Then London commuting started and what better choice than a zx-6r with a loud scratched and dented akra exhaust - oh and i also made the unwise decision to spray the bike matt black, it looked shit. But i sorted it out mechanically, ohlins shock, billet calipers (following the continuous rebuilding of the original tokicos that were dangerous through the winter months). 50k miles on the clock it was time for another change.
KTM Superduke 990. What a bike, i cannot fault it in any way, its awesome. the usual mods, decent exhaust, gearing, rebuilt suspension - used daily i kept it in good condition and... -
New 916 Owner
Hello everyone, name is Dan and glad to join the forum, last few years been touring Europe on a BMW GS and some fun on an NC30 but dream bike was always a 916 as original as possible.
Came across one being sold here in the UK last week only to find out a buyer had put down a deposit, I was gutted as it was in great condition with only 17k miles on the clock (Grey Import).
So asked seller to let me know if things don't work out, got a call few days later and today collected this beauty.
The bike's condition exceeded expectations, it is a great example, obviously been very well looked after by original owner and only been in UK last 2 years, all history with it and original exhaust etc.
Now this is currently sat in my kitchen, hope the Mr's wont notice..... -
