had a tour of Scotland last week on the multi, 5 days and 1600 miles it never missed a beat. I still love this bike.

4 of us made the trip from the west country, me on the DVT, a 2012 pikes peak an XR1000 and a triumph Daytona.

Headed to Fort William for the first night, from there across to Skye for a quick look, then north on the coast road via apple cross to Ullapool for second night.

Third day Ullapool to Wick, via the coat roads, we got to John O'Groats just as it was getting dark in time for a photo shot.

Fourth day from Wick back to Fort William and last day back home to the West Country.

Weather was mixed, we had one dry day but every other day we had rain, either mixed showers or torrential, non stop. Couple of days we may as well have been wearing wetsuits! Have some good gorerex gear, but when it's been torrential for 6 hours or more on the bike everything just gets damp and clammy!

At least we chose to stay in hotels, my preference was to take the tents and wild...

So, been thinking about what I swop the Hyperstrada 821 for, it replaced my old (05) Multistrada as I needed something to commute and take wifey on the back of with a bit of protection for me on the M4, its been great.

I didn't get a Multistrada back then as 1200cc was massive overkill and more than I wanted, and wanted to spend .... then someone mentioned the new'ish Multistrada 950 to me ...

So I call my dealer (Snells in Alton) and ask a few questions about price, specs etc, work out that none of the packs they do work as I want a pick and mix solution of some luggage and other bits, at which point they tell me that they are sure they can do bits ad hoc etc .....

Before I know it I've traded the Hyperstrada in, have a new Multistrada 950 on order to arrive in about a fortnight with centre stand, top box rack (already have the box), heated grips and the funky tank bag with USB charging hub .....

Didn't even need to leave my desk !!!!

All I can say is as ever excellent...

Me and my lad are at Oulton for the BSB and John was there signing books so I bought one which he signed for the boy.
We had seen a Bentley parked nearby and my lad loves Bentleys so he had a look round it. I noticed some of Johns books on the back seat and mentioned it to him. Turns out it's his, he swapped it for a watch he had got for winning a TT !
Should have seen my lads face when John got the key out of his pocket and told him to go and have a sit in it.

I received this from my lady of many years on my latest birthday. I now realise I had much smaller fingers when last I did this...

I should have worked on putting new brake hoses on my NSR250R resurrection, but got sidetracked with this instead. Just like full-size bike work, I have a small selection of bits left over...

As most know @Sam1199S had a horrific accident on track in February of this year and if not for the excellent reaction from the trackside medics dealing with both punctured lungs he may not be here today to look handsome and have such impressively large guns!
He is currently given only a 2% chance of walking again but whilst this is a slim I can say with 100% confidence that Sam will never give up until he becomes one of those 2%. We started spreading the gofundme page only a couple of days ago and it's already doing very well which is awesome but please do give anything you can and share it as far as possible.
Sam has been a bit shy only putting a £7500 goal and I hope we can raise many many times that amount. His new 1199R still owes well over £20,000 finance and we are unlikely to recover more than about £8-10,000 on that, there's at least another £10,000 of rehabilitation equipment I can think of and thats still not even considering converting his house which he...

I thought I'd post up a bit about out latest project. It's to convert a 749/999 road bike into a 999RS replica. Here is the end goal we are aiming for:

Once again I did a disappearing act after the forum bbq. My anxiety and depression has been steadily getting worse and I am really becoming more and more of a hermit. Even dog isn't helping.
I have been having counselling over the past couple of months to ascertain what therapy I need. Those counselling sessions were intense and upsetting, so much so that I had to have a two week break between each one.
Anyway, I start my therapy next Thursday and it will be every week, something I'm really not looking forward to but I have no choice if I want to get well again. The therapy is called EMDR and it's widely used on our armed forces for people suffering from PTSD. Quite an interesting read on the therapy, as it's to do with the REMs when you sleep and how the brain processes events.It will be even more intense than my counselling sessions were.
At the moment I'm still not working, getting ESA, so very skint. Haven't had the will or the inclination to do much of anything.

Reluctantly decided to sell my R, only put about 1K miles in the 4+ years I've owned it. It's pointless having it sat in the garage, yep, it's a joy to look at and to ride but seems far easier these days to jump on the monster. Yep, sure it will appreciate but I've never bought bikes to make money on and hopefully someone can enjoy it as I have.

14,800 miles, new belts and FSH, good tyres and rides and runs as a baby R should do - superbly!

Currently fitted with clamps to raise the bars slightly - original clamps will be supplied with bike as will original paddock stand, standard silencers and link pipe, cover (not original) Also fitted with Bucchi slipper, original slipper with plates also supplied. Comes with model related number plate.

It was fitted with c/f front apron and belly pan which will also be supplied (if you like the 998S look)

Having been alarmed by the amount of Pani thefts and more recently reports of people being physically removed from their bikes only to see some scrote disappear on it I recalled a recent post where the OP had seen a RF transmitter and receiver and wondered if anything could be done.

Quick look at my 899's wiring diagram and I came up with a way of killing the bike remotely withing 75m or so of me and the transmitter. Not wanting to attack the stock wiring I sourced the oem connectors to allow the newly made loom to plug into existing points, namely the r/h handlebar switch wiring multiplug and the GPS feed supply plug, so should I want to remove it at some point in the future it'll all go back to stock. All tucks away nicely and only requires the removal of the r/h upper fairing and ignition key plastic trim

It's passive by nature so I don't need to 'arm it' or anything other than just put my key in and press the starter, however if I disable the bike from the fob then it...

While I have been 'laid up' after the operation and only just getting around a bit more, but bored stiff; I get a visit from a forum member who travelled from East London to my isolated location in Suffolk. He spent all afternoon here and we had a nice long talk over lunch about several things which took my mind off the fact I'm waiting for some results still.

Just been away on a long weekend with Mrs T on the Multi (2015 DVT std model). The bike was just brilliant throughout - fast, stable, comfy for her on the back, luggage on the rack and a tankbag. We whizzed all around the Cotswolds which are just fab, very picturesque.

And the bike has been 100% since I got it - it's just a superb piece of kit. It's so eager to accelerate, and torquey. Love it.

So there you have it. A happy Ducati story for you all.

It's fortnightly, I've been a few times but never bothered to write it up before. It's a bike night, there were bikes, and their riders, a few hangers-on too... It's not in Lincolnshire, but Nottinghamshire (which is like Lincolnshire-Lite).

For a very reasonable sum I bought a foaming pint of Carling from the bar of the extremely charming Plough, and commenced to parade around.
It was all very pleasant, and even the burgers smelled nice, but I didn't have one as I am cooking for me and Ms Fire tonight. So I sipped my foaming and surprisingly tasty lager and had a look at some bikes.
This had already caught my attention, so I scuttled back for a proper nosy, after leaving the SS there to make friends.
1980, V reg, Series 1.5 MHR... same spec as mine but with different wheels. Very pretty and owned by a distinguished looking chap. Sounded cracking as he rode off.
It's on again in a fortnight... wearing a black visor was a misstep as I had to guess my way home. Glad I was able to...

Got a call 00:45 on Thursday am from Biketrac saying my bike was being stolen, checked out garage and yep it had gone! They said it was in a carpark 2 mins away so I went to get it, not recommended and all that, I called the police on the way (another story). Anyway keeping it brief 2 'hoodies' were with my bike and ran off as I approached as I said the police were on their way. Luckily I got my bike back in the garage all within 15 mins of first call from Biketrac. Police eventually turned up 25 mins after I called them. Anyway, if you don't have it (or similar) fitted, get it fitted, I was lucky but the system certainly made my luck. Keep safe. This was in Southampton, Hampshire so up the security if you are in that area - I have! Cheers.

After weeks of drooling over the new KTM Adventure S I've finally taken the plunge and done the evil deed.

Had my 1200 DVT for 20 months and it's been a pleasure to own and ride. Had only minor niggles, did 13K miles and she never let me down. Great bike!

I've got a few things to sell if anyone's interested:

Carbon screen
Panniers (never used) locks are out, come with the footrest brackets and rubber cushions.
Top box rack to fit Ducati top box
(I bought all the parts separately, as I didn't want their top box)
Evotech frame crash bungs (never fitted, still in bag)
Pannier innerbags for 2013 model.
(Bought them off a mate but never used them- so can't vouch for how well they fit the DVT panniers)

I've not been following the forum for a little while, but I can say it's been the best bike forum I've ever come across - there's certainly nothing like this for KTM!

So, I've been restoring this RG500 since buying it as a hybrid, unloved thing about 3 years ago.

Everything as been replaced with either good used, or brand new Suzuki Genuine where possible. It's been a right challenge!

Spec as follows :
Engine, 58.5mm custom wossner Pistons, slightly decked barrels to correct port timing, welded and reprofiled head to get optimum squish volume, rebuilt cranks, uprated MPE 1st/2nd/6th gears with undercut dogs, performance fabrications billet disc valve covers, Genuine sugaya exhausts, nitron shock, rebuilt forks, rebuilt brakes, every bearing replaced in chassis and engine, genuine new cables, pipes, hoses, oil lines, clips, fasteners either replated or replaced mostly with gen Suzuki parts, new fuel tap, genuine bodywork which has been repainted.. list is endless!

Took it for its 1st MOT yesterday and it seriously shifts! Smooth as silk!
