Rob I understand the reasoning for the limitation but if people start deleting previous attachments to make way for new ones the forum will be littered with posts with references to images/photos that no longer exist :-( (one of my pet hates!)
Ok, sorted. I've now doubled space on the server to 10mb for both albums and picture attachments. Also subscriber space has doubled up to 100mb for picture attachments and 100mb of album space.
Thanks Rob.....(touching wood lol) good that everything's settled down now and you can get some time for yourself!
I have to say that the Photobucket solution costs nowt, saves Rob server space ( I assume) and is dead easy to use. So I'll carry on using it. It's actually simpler than uploading photos to the forum from your hard-drive.
I agree and personally much prefer using a photo hosting service (I use SmugMug, there's a cost but the features/facilities are great) but free services from the like of Photobucket, Flickr, ImageShack, Picasaweb etc etc are really good. The downside is that people close/lapse the service at some point in the future or even just clear out 'old' photos and you end up with forum posts missing the images referred to :-( Swings and round-a-bouts, there's similar downsides to local hosting.
