For last 3 weeks I’m now the proud owner of a red streetfighter 1098s. Wanted one of these forever since I saw them back in 2009 ! For various reasons I couldn’t quite justify getting one for a while but after searching for months, one popped up for sale in my closest Ducati dealership. Previous owner seemed to have a carbon fibre fetish with pretty much everything plastic swapped for carbon. Has the obligatory Termi’s but bizarrely the passenger foot pegs were still attached ? First thing I would have taken off ! 2 hours in the garage later though and they’re off. Just waiting for some open clutch conversion parts and that’s all that needs to be done for now. The previous owner though can’t have enjoyed riding it though. The engine felt a bit flat when I picked it up and I thought it was maybe the wrong fuel map so took it to Moto Rapido in Winchester and 20 mins later, they found the exhaust valve motor cable thing had locked the exhaust valve shut so it would not Rev much past about 5000 rpm ! What the hell the previous owner was doing?! I’m now enjoying the full 155 bhp and that was some ride home from Moto Rapido too ! Very helpful guys and would get it serviced there too if it wasn’t an hour journey there. Looking forward to putting some quality miles on it this Summer ! Cheers !
I'm very much confused as you say this was your closest Ducati dealership, when you've one in Croydon & South Godstone also Crawley and perhaps a London one as well.Anyway welcome on board the forum.
We like pictures newbie Include your rubbish bins if you want to keep me happy welcome into our mad house
In Moto Croydon is my closest dealer and I bought it from them. Goldstone and Crawley are both a bit further away and London is a bit of a pain to get to. Moto Rapido are the closest ones that can do anything with an ECU it seems.
Screen and pillion foot pegs gone and have added some rim decals. Will post more photos once the open clutch conversion is complete. Cheers !
Welcome, and I'll keep an eye (and ear) out for you passing my way. Enjoy the ride. PS your driveway is far too tidy, needs some bins in the background.
