Managed my first proper ride out on the Multi yesterday covered about 160 miles. First impressions coming off a Gixxer 1000 was this is sooo comfortable. Given the really cruddy roads the bike handles well and the brakes are awesome. Took a while getting used to the front end dive but actually found it gave more feel and confidence over the BPF forks i'm used too. Obviously power delivery is the major difference and to be honest I think it suits my riding style, and is certainly more useful for road riding. Surprised by how much difference the hand deflectors made, with temp hovering about 10 degrees and quite comfortably using summer gloves. So far so good. Only issues were wife not please I was out for longer than I'd said and cleaning all the crud and salt off took ages and put me in even closer to sleeping in the dog house.
Pat gave you got a standard suspension model? If so firm up the front compression by no more than 1/2 turn - makes all the difference - reduces front end dive significantly
Did this at the dealers when I picked up the bike from new! The compression is adjusted on the screws at the bottom of the front forks - turn each of them clockwise by 1/4 turn first then test - you may find it needs another 1/4 turn but I remember thinking that it didn't need much to make a big difference
Before you mess with suspension make sure you know whe it is to start...put all to std then start from there
Actually got the S Sport model. Was pissing around with changing modes so much my mate nearly ran into the back of me. I'm pretty sure it will be left in sport mode most of the time. Will use touring on the motorways or seriously bumpy roads when just out for a bimble. Found it a bit too soft in touring initially until I got used to it. Still got full on sports bike head on so to be expected.
