1199 First Ride Panigale 1199

  1. So my first ride out on the panigale 1199s 2012.
The bike is amazing but feels rock hard, on one bend it spat me off the seat onto the tank. After resting my manhood I realised I need to soften the suspension loads. It's pretty standard at the minute on default settings with it on flat set up. Someone please help!!!

    Thank you

  2. Go to your nearest suspension centre and get them to set it up mate best 50 sheets I ever spent on any of my bikes, my mate had the same with this 1199 and he took his in and it's I different bike

  3. Looking it up now, thank you

  4. I've had my bikes set up by a few people. By far the best feel I've always come away with is when it was done by Pete Clifford. Link below...

Pete is a very easy to get on with bloke. Drop him a line. When i get my next bike (what ever that may be) I'll take it straight to Pete...

    Cheers,

  5. Change it for an 899 - all sorted.

  6. I had mine set up which helped but that rear is way to stiff, get a lighter spring in the rear. You can get the front working nicely on std springs. I experimented at the weekend with another turn of preload taken off the front and it felt better again.

  7. I agree, the standard setup is pretty unforgiving. I got a 'comfort' seat fitted, which allowed my buttocks a supply of blood on a regular basis but isn't really that comfortable. Have you checked that the adjustable widget on the rear suspension is set for 'progressive' and not 'linear' ? Other forums say this makes a significant difference. Once I return to biking to ride my own bike once more, I will get my suspension set up for my size and weight by a recognised specialist...... this seems a very sensible move for higher mileage owners who are not track focused (I cannot comment upon track focused riding as I have no experience).

  8. Sports seat and tank grips and being ball bagged is a thing of the past. Doesn't stop the bike bucking around on bad surfaced roads but it makes it much better.
