First Service/oil Level 899

  1. Hey all,

Got a few questions, my 899 had its first service on Saturday, the dealer put in Motul 7100 10w40 4T, I've always been a fan of motul to be honest and the bike seems to be running smoother on it which is a bonus.

Now my question is, I'm on a track day Tuesday, and I checked my oil level today, after the bike had been left for a good 30-40 mins and it's registering "just" above the minimum level.... when completely upright.... Now I come from Jap bikes which are measured warm, do we think 30-40 mins is long enough to cool? I'd have thought so myself !? (new to Ducati)

Worth mentioning to the dealer ? or shall I just pick up some Motul and top it up, I imagine they measure the amount and bung it in.

Don't really want to be running it on track on the minimum, I know they shouldn't be full but for piece of mind?

    Cheers,

  2. Sounds like it needs a little top up, yeah checked when hot, 30 mins is plenty. Track use will likely cause u to use a little though, I would say it's best to get it nearer the top line before track work
