I am 54 year old and this is my first sport bike. Since buying this 03, 749s in November I have fettled her, new fairings, ASV levers, new Showa shock and leather seat cover. Today was my first opportunity to ride her. The weather is mild but the roads are wet so couldn't go too far but ....what a ride. Don't know why but I find her pretty comfortable, the pegs and bars are fine and the riding position is surprisingly comfortable for my little legs and 5' 8" frame. I have an 848 SF and an MV Turismo Veloce in the garage and my impression on the hours ride this morning was I couldn't be more pleased. Mind you she flipping filthy now.
Nice looking bike @ShaunR . You say that you've fitted new fairings. For some time now I've been looking at changing my fairings to. I'm toying with the Fila rep options but all I can find is Chinese ones which have mixed reviews. Are yours Chinese fairings and if so did they put up any kind of struggle in the fitting process?
They are Chinese fairings and they are pretty good. There is some loosening and tightening to get them to fit but I am pretty happy with them. Paint looks good, not perfect but good and they fit pretty well. I wouldn't hesitate to buy some more. Oh and the colour is spot on.
I bought my yella 749 in December a couple of years ago. I took it for a 20 mile test ride in the cold and rain and hated it, I couldn`t wait to get off it and walk away. A week later, I`m back, made them a cheeky offer and she`s mine, love the old girl. I was bored & googling the other day and I found this: The more I look, the more I like, minus the gold bits, rim tape and a couple of stickers on the tank and nose. The Image Works have quoted £200 fitted, ride in ride out.
Looks good. Not sure about the Xerox lettering. Do you mean £200 fitted for the fairings. If so that's an absolute bargain.

I think it looks great. The stickers really lift the yellow. Went out again today and I can't tell you how much this bike impresses me. I'd always been a bit worried about riding a sport bike because of the riding position but my god it is comfy. I want another one now.
On my test ride, apart from the grim weather, I wasn`t keen on the standard screen, it seemed to cut my vision of the clocks in half and the bike felt high at the back and very stood on its nose. A double bubble screen sorted my issue with seeing the clocks and a couple of hundred miles in the seat sorted everything else. I love this bike now, she`s defo a keeper. Oh yes, glad you`re enjoying it.
