Fit Tail Tidy - Ruin Abs??? Help

  1. Hi - just fitted an evo etc tail tidy to my beastie - borrowed a good friend who is spanner literate and had thought all went well - when I switched the bike on to test the new tail light I noticed the sound of a pump running continually - turns out its the ABS pump - have checked the abs wires running to the rear and not a mark or a scratch, so no idea if I've done something - or ???- the new tail today light works fine, the bike works fine - excluding the now lit up ABS light and the pump running - have disconnected the battery to reset the bike - still the same - dealer is 60 miles away and generally this is a pain as reluctant to ride until I know whats up - suggestions or help very welcome.

  2. on a car i would say pump every time.

  3. just cant think of a scenario that would activate an abs pump, on a stationary vehicle, i have deffo diagnosed and replaced a full unit for this symptom.

  4. The evotech tail light needs patching into the existing loom. The cables from the OEM light and abs sensor run along side each other......have you traced the right one back and spliced correctly? There's a live feed to the speed sensor so that would light the tail light up as if all was well.

  5. i guess there active/pulse generators then.

  6. What generation Diavel is it? You need to cut into the Gen 1 cable but the Gen 2 has a connector under the rear hub for easy disconnection. I then connected my Evotech into the loom under the seat.

It looks like you have connected into the pump as Nelly says.

  7. still interested on how this would activate the pump when stationary. never worked on bike abs systems, i believe there is a few more parameters taken into account on bike abs systems.just curious.
