999 Fitment Centre For Es-01 Kit Near Reading, Uk?

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Fleaman, Mar 12, 2016.

  1. Hi All,

Just ordered the ES-01 starter cable kit for my 999. Any ideas if I could fit myself with no specialist tools, or is there anyone recommended near me that anyone has used before?

I did try a couple of searches on here, with no luck, and the only approved centre on Exige's website is in Notts...

    Thanks in advance!

  2. You certainly can do it yourself - it's a bit fiddly just because of the way Ducati have packaged the battery box and loom, but a bit of patience is all it really takes. The kit comes with very comprehensive instructions and photos of each step, so you can either tackle it yourself or hand it all over to any local bike mechanic?

    Cheers,
    Dom

  3. Here's the instructions to read through if you haven't received the kit yet. Most fit in 1 to 2 hours. There was a certain member (TT) that seemed to take a week or two so I don't think you'll beat that record :). It is the trickiest kit to fit but nothing two serious if you have wielded a spanner before. Easier to get a mate to help by supporting the battery box when swung out of the way.

  5. Fitted yesterday by Blades Ducati, Reading. 2 hours labour but glad I opted for professional fit as they spotted and fixed a couple of other faults. Apparently it was the first one they'd done and had no idea such a fix was available. Main dealer sheesh!

Starting VERY nicely now Money extremely well spent and cannot recommend Exige's kit and instructions enough.
