Fitting 10 spoke forged Marchesinis on a 748

  1. Can anyone tell me if these are a straight swap onto a 1999 748 from a 1098? What about the brake discs? Do i need these as well and do they need any spacers?

  2. will not fit for the rear, the 1098 has an bigger axle hub for the rear wheel. front i don not know...

  3. Also the front disc offset varies between 10mm (748sp) and 15mm (748R). Not sure about the 1098 front offset. Other problem is I believe 1098 front discs have 5 fixing holes so you couldn't use your 6 fixing hole 748 discs which is a bummer, the 1098 wheels are really good looking. Andy

  4. discs are 5 bolt fitment on 1098 6 on 748 and no facility for speedo drive

  5. Neither will fit; rear of 1098 has bigger axle although 848 rear will fit 748.

    Front wheel of 1098/848 use a 5 bolt disc that is only available in 15mm offset whereas 748 (except R) uses 10mm offset, also no cutout for speedo drive.

    You can get Marchesini 10-spoke wheels for 916 models but they're not cheap and it's unlikely you'd find any used ones much cheaper - I have them on my 916 which (ironically) I needed the 15mm discs and speedo replacement spacer for as I have 1198R forks (1098 front wheel would be a straight fit);

  6. Sweet :upyeah:. Andy

  7. a cheap alternative is the 848 or hypermotard rear wheel specially if you get the hypermotard forged rear wheel thats the same..... for the front you could fit a 749 999 front end (especially a radial front end) then you get the 10 spoke wheel......

  8. Its your bike that i had seen and made me wonder. Oh well.

    What he said....Or be super cheap and get yr Brembo anchor painted black then hunt out a suitable rear from an 848/monster/hyper...:upyeah:
