Fitting new exhaust

  1. Just fitting a termi can and de-cat to my 749s and just wondering if any of you when doing this did a battery reset to the bike and if it is recommended to do it?

    Cheers in advance

  2. Battery reset does nothing other than reset the clock:wink: if you're fitting the DP ecu then a tps reset in software is needed and a balance and set of the CO is all that's needed

  3. Evening,

I'm a newbie to the forum... I've just purchased a termi slip on can for my 2003 749... After some pointers on fitting it & also (bit of a strange question) how do I know its a genuine termi, its got the stickers on the carbon cover, but thats the only writing I can see on it...

  4. Yes that's a termignoni rear can photo the other end and other pipework

  5. Thanks,

    How can you tell...

See pic of the other end

Pipe work? that's all I brought?

Will it not fit onto my existing standard pipe work....

    or have I made a boo boo??!

  6. It will fit you existing pipe work although you need the decat front pipe or you need to get your pipe decatted.

  7. Really... Thanks

What happens if I dont decat it & stick it straight on?

  8. It will mean that your rear cylinder will not have a cat and your front cylinder will have a cat . rear one is in the silencer front one in the pipe. Will probably run like shit. Youf new silencer is already de catted apart from other things.

  9. eBay or somone on here will have a decated pipe. I'm guessing it's a grey swing arm shallow sump model?

  10. Cool. Thanks... For the heads up...

Looks like Im on the look out for a decat pipe.. Will that run with stock ecu etc...

  11. Its an 03 grey swingarm model.. Pass on the sump type...

  12. It will be the shallow sump on the 749. Your best bet is to take it off and get a local welder to cut it around the beginning of the cat . Remove said cat and reweld it together . Not very difficult and shouldnt take an hour.

  13. OK. I have an ask on here 1st & see what pops up..

Will adding the can make alot of difference??

  14. Hi, Got Decat pipe earlier, look for some pics, help for installing the bad boy & rough time required?

    Thanks

  15. Half System on & I luv it! Sounds lovely indeed.....

Was a pretty straight forward affair......

Think its runs fine... nothing to out of the ordinary as yet... fingers crossed I can run her with out any need to reset her up??

If appears to breath better, a little blip on the throttle & the pressure that comes out of the termi can is impressive... :)

Not sure if its going to improve performance, if not the sound it now makes, makes it feel faster ;)
