Fitting the Semi

  1. Bought myself a carbon Semi front mudguard (the bit that bolts to the back of the mudguard) thing is the original platic one fits Ok but it seems like I'm doing something wrong as the carbon ones seems slack even when its tightened up. It drops down so that the bottom edge touches the tyre. It wont last long if it starts to rub as it will get destroyed. I've tried 4 times to get it to sit right but it will not. Am I doing something wrong here, has anyone else fitted a carbon replacement. They both look identical but they dont fit the same.

  2. Interesting post title.
Down this way, a "Semi" means a whole other thing and fitting it involves a different approach.

  3. Means the same up here too. The title was a tad naive

  4. Yeah, I was just about to suggest "thumb it in"

  5. I had a semi once, after a pint or two of beer. Wife not impressed.

  6. The posting name coach kind of suggested a 'how to' video and I was expecting a link to a porn site but no, all I got was something about a mudguard.

    Back to WSB then.

  7. Good grief, some people have minds like sewers, go and use the mental equivalent of soap and water!

Coach, I assume you are talking about a Fenda Extenda. I’ve only fitted the plastic variety and not had your problem, however, I have wondered if the spongy sticky bits on some extendas would cause a bit of floppiness. I’ve always fitted the extenda, without the spongy bits, using pop rivets and sealant between the extenda and the original mud guard to stop any muck and water getting in the gap.
