  3. not what i wanted

  4. I like the heated seat!

Fitting the thicker DP comfort or race seat reduces the heat a little by the way

  6. Hi Mrstatic, what percentage would you reckon the wrap has made compared to prior without the wrap?
    Cheers

  8. Hi mate, it's hard to say now I've got used to it but I don't find myself lifting my ass anymore to cool it down, so I would say it's cut by at least 50 percent?

  9. Thanks mrstatic, I think I might just have a go with a set of those. Any increase in running temperature of the bike that you have noticed at all?

  10. I'd be wary of doing this personally, im sure people have done it with no issues but that area of the pipe really gets hot, and wrapping it is only going to move the heat to another area and insulate it.

  11. In theory it will just escape through the exhaust and that should be able to cope with the heat. The major problem with these on cars is that they can hold moisture and increase the rate of corrosion, which wouldn't be a problem riding it because the heat should dry it off, but maybe when washing it there could be a water trap?...

  12. Agree but with the current issues I've got with mine, anymore heat in that area can't be a good thing.

  13. It is definitely one solution. I was all for it but then I read a guy had his headers catch fire because the mud etc stuck to the heat wrap and dried out and then just went up one day, which put me off!

I am personally considering getting mine ceramic coated if I need to ride a lot in the summer next year. Keeping the standard heat shield is definitely a must as the Carbon ones seem to burn through apart from a limited few makes.

  14. Not noticeable, I live in the tropics temperatures are anything from 25 degrees to 35 degrees all year round, hence why I feel the heat maybe more than you, temps on the bike regularly go over 100 degrees.

  15. I recall reading on here someone lining the underside of their actual seat which seemed to work. Got to be better than diverting the heat somewhere else along the pipe.
