Fix For Quickshifter

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by OoRanoO, Jul 5, 2020.

  1. I have a 2019 1260s touring. I changed my chain and rear sprocket down to 42 teeth and after that the quickshifter would only work when shifting up through the gears but would not shift down, no blip, nothing.
Took her to Ducati Alton, they tried a new quickshifter but same problem. Anyway, long story short they sent a report to Ducati and came back with a very simple fix which actually worked.
This resets all of the electronics and the process is as follows.

  2. Photos are in the wrong order but hopefully you get the gist.

  3. So I assume you go into the menu and then start off down the road whilst it calibrates?

  4. Correct

  5. I wonder if Ducati then bollocked Aston for giving away a qs? :)

  6. Thread Resurrection....

@OoRanoO or anyone else for that matter..

My bike has been into Ducati Leeds (who have been great) for a bit of work. One of the issues was a recent 'fault' with the quickshifter that was the same as yours. Shift up but not down.

My bike runs a 14t front sprocket and has done for two years with no issue.

I needed the tyre calibration to be completed, but worked faultlessly afterwards. Since the issue arose, I have tried to calibrate but with no success. Ducati have changed the QS unit but state that a change in gearing will stop it performing downshifts, yet it's worked for over two years.

    Any thoughts?
