Finally got round to taking the bike apart. Have to remove a lot of stuff to get to it but not a bad job to do. Watched some videos about taking the nose cone off , the videos on YouTube were for a V4 and it is different on the 1299. Going to use the time while it's apart to clean up the bits you can't get to. As soon as the 4 bolts are out of the plastic cover, covering the dash, it all gets easier! You might need a magnetic tip to get the lower two bolts out.
