Flash Or Power Commander??

  1. My 2001 900ss ie has termognoni pipes and a K&N filter,if anyone has tuned there`s what is the best course of action, power commander or get the ECU flashed?
Getting a lot of conflicting opinions and was hoping that someone has tried and tested each method and the way I should head.:Wtf:

  2. There's little in the gains, but the flash works out cheaper. I flashed a customers 900 a few weeks ago and got a nice consistent gain across bhp and torque. Nothing massive, but the bike felt better to ride and picked up better. Rev limit was stretched out 500rpm to.

  3. Its the top end that is lacking on mine and without any tuning done the performance parts are not going to notice.I will find out the price for a reflash!

  4. I'd always work the standard ECU if possible. Power Cs fail all too regularly and my tuner provided a good if minor point. This is that the ECU sends the signal for what it thinks is the correct mixture etc, this then goes into the Power C which reads the signal, compares it against it's parameters, has a little think, then sends out a corrected figure. Now I know this doesn't take long, and it's called propagation delay if you're interested, but it's always a little bit behind where you're actually running so will never be as good as re-programming the ECU.

  5. Recommendations for reflashing an ECU in Sussex or Hampshire, anyone?

  6. Give Neil (Nelly from above post) a ring, he may be able to do a postle flash for you.

  7. Do you do postie flashes?

  8. Yes Wayne. Just need the ecu so it's pretty simple. Drop us a pm if you're interested ;)

  9. I recently got my 1200 Tenere flashed. In my opinion its a better way to go about it. I looked at the options and this was best for me. Its also of benefit if the guy flashing the ECU can do it with use of a dyino, its the perfect set up for your engine imo.
