I thinking of booking with focussed events a trackday at Bedford? I am thinking about doing one next Saturday, but don't know much about Bedford Autodrome and it's an 1.5 hr ride to get there, should I do it? Or wait until I get paid and do Snetterton next month? ( I am relatively inexperienced on a track, only 2 trackdays so far, but got the bug! ) Help me decide..... Also what are people's opinions of focussed events? I have only been on msv trackdays before. And reading on the net focussed events seems to not have a great reputation. Thanks
you'll be alright with them, there aint much other options left, and imho they all have their good and bad days.... personally on a bike i would wait for Snetterton...
FE are great as far as I'm concerned, I've done loads of track days with them and never had an issue.
Not had an issue with FE. Never understood why some have issues if they respect the rules of a trackday... and AFAIK all the TD organisers have the same rules.
I'd wait for Snetterton. Not a fan of FE but they do run a good day. If you can, stick to 3 group days rather than 4 If Andy Taylor is there instructing, go out with him if you can. He's a top guy and really knows his stuff
Yer man Kevin used to get a good slagging. I've never had a problem with FE. They tend to have less tolerance towards twattish riding but that's not a bad thing. Go ahead and book, It'll be fine.
In the Thistle hotel at Brands tonight for our third FE track day this year tomorrow. If I had a beef, getting info can be like pulling teeth sometimes. No beef on the organising, had a great 3 days at Cartagena in Spain and a fantastic dusk till dawn at Brands. IMO you can book with confidence. Andy
I try an avoid FE simply because of the attitude - it's always your fault, no problems with how they run the day though
Don't two trackdays with FE. First was okay, second a disaster but overall you get the feeling they know what they're doing. Due to the location of the tracks, I tend to do a lot with MSV and have never had a problem with them
Not a fan of FE personally, particularly there over booking of events. Last trackday with FE was at Donnington a couple or three of years ago; had booked into fast, arrived at circuit after signing on as I had been held up by an accident (as had others) to find I had been moved to the slow group; ironic really for a company which preaches safety.
FE do have a bit of a monopoly which tends to limit choice, personally l have never had any problems with them here or abroad. Their customer service is a bit hit and miss at times, or certainly has been back in time. As for price I have had some decent deals in the past. As so many people have gone with them in the past and up to now you are bound to find that their experiences will be quite varied, like many they have had their blips and ups and downs. Trying them out yourself is the best bet, you can then make a proper judgement, in this case I think it is the best way. Personally I will be using them again before the year is out.
Tend to avoid wherever possible, no customer service and a proper holier than thou attitude, plenty of options out there, NL, MSV etc ...... I work hard for my money and like spending it where I feel I'm valued .... not a pain .....
FE have been equated to the Tescos of the trackday world - fill every single space they can regardless of ability. This is the main reason that I stopped using them and now go with MSV instead.
Mixed experience here. On the whole I think they are fairly decent, customer service ain't great at times though.
You'll be better off paying a little extra and booking an MSV day IMHO. Because MSV charge a little more than others, you find the days arnt as booked up. This means you have more room/space in the groups. MSV days are spot on
FE are generally good and 95% of the time you be fine and have a great time. i have been known to jump to FE's defence in the past as there is alot about what they offer and the way they do things i really like. unfort more recent experience has proven that their customer service and resolution of issues as a result is unacceptably poor. so out of preference i too will take my money elsewhere.
