Foggy Returning To Bsb Next Year

  1. I’d hardly describe Fogarty being bank rolled by a rich Australian as “a coup for BSB”. His record as a team manger is hardly credible, no matter how many excuses you make for the abject failure of the Petronas. How does the saying go ‘a leopard can’t change its spots’ ? Fogarty is a cantankerous old git, always was, always will be and his ‘win at any cost’ attitude won’t sit well with the other teams. Also can’t see Fogarty coping well with Stuart Higgs’ totalitarian levelling rules :joy: Andy

  2. totally agree, Foggy was renowned for a lack of empathy, lack of attention and commitment during the fp1 years, even flying home on the morning of races etc. I just can’t see this as a team riders will want to be part of but we will see. It’s another bike on the grid which is good, because I can’t imagine motorapido doing too many more years, especially when they seem to be on reduced hours now and less interested than ever in actually selling bikes unless your their mate. Regardless of whether that’s a view shared it’s a really tough time for any motorcycle dealer based race team at the moment, let alone an independent. Look at how long ago P&H and JHP got out

  3. I can only see it as a positive for bsb.
However well he and his team does he’ll be the highest profile person in the paddock instantly and thus bring more people to watch bsb, surely.

  4. That TT UsA Facebook page for eg, they seem to love foggy on there and I’d wager a few more will be watching bsb as a result now or at least “keeping an eye out”.

  5. Good for the profile of BSB, he will just be a figurehead I presume. The Foggy Petronas team isnt a good example of team management, partly due to WSB rules though.

  8. “Never meet your heroes” etc…

Apparently it makes you a “character”though.

  9. I followed him through the WSB days and thought he was great, but met him in an airport a few years ago and when I said hello he looked at me as if I was s--t. (I think that may be his normal look though) I may have caught him on an off day, but its coloured my view from then on.

  10. Didn't he do some promo work for Spitfire bikes too?

  14. it’s like everyone isn’t it meet them on a shit day and they’re idiots meet them on a good day and they’re lovely fellas.
MCN usually get about 2 likes and a bot comment on most of their Fb posts. There were 123 comments and counting after 4 hours when this news broke.
Whether he can add anything technically to a team I’m doubtful but he will definitely put a few “bums on seats”.

  15. I’m not a bike racer but how can he tell these guys how to race this new generation of bikes as they’re completely different to the bikes he raced? “Eeer, just goo fookin fast our kid” I’m not sure that’s going to work!

  16. If M Lav is anything to go by in moto 3 foggy will be sat in comms all weekend long and won’t be advising the riders or team at all, or telling them how to race.
