  2. Pmsl, it could be worse, didn't a non league York knock Arsenal out a few years back.

  3. I have been chuckling since I saw the result.

Mind you, the Baggies only beat Oxford Utd on penalties having sprayed in 20 shots in 120 minutes. Their attempts to find the back of the net are still woeful.
I see that Oxford Utd are currently bottom of League 2. That means they would have been at the very bottom of the 4th Division in the old days and WBA still couldn't beat them over 120 minutes. Pathetic.

But Man U? How are the mighty fallen.
Maybe Louis is just lacking in the necessary charisma for the job. He certainly seems to be short in the charm stakes.

  4. Don't the over paid nancies that call themselves athletes take some of the blame for playing like a load of fairies ? Is £59.7 million pounds for one player plus the "personal" terms of whatever a week really good value ? A team comprises 11 players on the field, rarely do I see one person motivating his side to expend that extra effort as they did when football was played by men who stood up to a tackle. God I'm old and grumpy, bring back Nobby Stiles is what I say. Andy

  5. It was pointed out that MK Dons' team cost about £500k to put together. Man U have just spent £60m on Di Maria.
So he must be 120 times better than the whole MK Dons team, clearly.

  6. For MK that was their game of the season. Theyd all be up for it. For MU, please note I hate MU, this was just another game in a mickey mouse trophy no-one cares about. So perspective. Plus the season has just started. Its about 'over a season' and MU would trounce MK 'over a season'. The league, FA Cup and the champions league are the only 3 worth bothering about. Most premiership clubs 'try' to get knocked out of the league cup without it looking too obvious. So I would not read too much into this defeat.

I'm an LFC fan and I hope we get dumped out of this cup too.

  7. So much for personal pride then. If I was an overpaid puffballer and the manager told me (probably through a translator) that he wanted me to play like a sunday league pub team player I'd tell him to poke it and I'd sit and watch the game on TV.

  9. You and me both.

Obviously not the Radio Scotland bit, but I suppose they have to make it humorous what with there only being two teams north of the border.

  12. Pah. Man U aren't even in Europe this season. Are you trying to tell me that given the depth of their squad and the size of their club, even their B team is incapable of giving MK Dons a game? There are no excuses. They didn't lose, they were murdered. It reflects poorly on the club - just another piece of the invincible edifice crumbling. It is astonishing that what Ferguson built up over so many years has cracked the moment he's had his back turned. You suspect that the players were loyal to him, rather than to Man U itself.

The League Cup used to be a perfectly reasonable competition until teams became obsessed with Europe. But Man U aren't going to win the League and they're not in Europe. So if they wanted a cup this season, you'd have thought they would have made a bit more effort last night.

  13. a mate of mine a proper Chelsy fan through and through was quite shocked that they ditched moyles so quick.

  14. Pride, after there poor opening matches to the season I would have thought the manager would have wanted to make a statement last night to the fans by wining at all costs.

  15. Pride doesnt mean shit these days. Its all about the money. MU need to get in Europe champions league and having fewer matches to play over a season helps. It certainly helped LFC. :) Thats why the reserves or bench players are fielded for these games. They want to lose them.

  16. Know what your saying boots but losing becomes a habit as much as wining, they need a moral boost and this loss isn't one. Not that I care.

  17. Yeah, Utd's main aim this season is to get into the Champions League, and they should be able to do that with their 'A' team - plus a few. They also expect to go a very long way in the League Cup using most of their 'B' team and a few of the 'A', so of course they didn't want to lose last night.
There's no prestige in this competition but it's a good way to keep the B's on their toes plus a chance to blood a few youngens and not to mention a handy source of revenue.

If they'd lost by a single goal then that would have been bad enough. Eyebrows raised for sure. But to be thrashed 4-0 :D is utter humiliation. - (Hmmm.....deserves a few more of these :D :D :D :D).

Can't wait to see the highlights on the Beeb tonight (11.05pm). Gonna sleep well I think.

Hopefully, Burnley will bring their A game to the party on Saturday and hammer them too.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the main event of the weekend takes place when the league leaders :upyeah: (ok , it's only been two games so far and probably won't happen again....ever, but it feels real good:p) have a problematic little fixture coming up. Knowing our luck, instead of Psycho Suarez it'll be Bonkers Balotelli who gets the last minute winner. Aaaaarrrrgghhh! One day we'll get our shit together, one day.

    COYS.

  18. Don't remember a last minute winner last season, but it could go either way this time.

  19. I thought the best team north of the Scottish border was Faroe Islands......
