For He's A Jolly Good Fellow- Kindness Of Some Ducatisti

  1. I recently had coolant leaking problems on my Triumph Sprint St, the overflow pipe spigot had broken off the thermostat housing and coolant was leaking all over the shop.

I thought that a new housing would probably cost and arm and a leg, so I pondered ways to repair the snapped off spigot. Al ( Arquebus) very kindly offered to help me out, and after many exchanges of emails, and Al drawing up some proper technical drawings , he went ahead and machined the spigot in the photo which will screw into the damaged housing ( once I have tapped it out).

Now offering to make the spigot is extremely good of him, but after he had made it I found out that Al doesn't have a lathe! He had made this tiny little spigot by using a power drill held in a vice and used a woodworking plane's blade held in his hand to fashion the various diameters.

unfortunately my photo doesn't do his workmanship justice!

So, a huge thanks from me to a really clever chap! spigot.jpg
