Testing the water to see if anyone is interested in my top of the range Dainese Bora suit which unfortunately seems to have shrunk. Well what I mean is I am struggling to get my belly in these days !!! These suits were widely known to be one of the best Dainese ever made. They were over £1000 and that was a few years ago. It has very thick strong smooth leather and a double zip front with a large back hump. It has double calf zips so can be worn inside or outside your boots. The suit is a UK40/EU50 and is mainly black with small areas of pearl white and silver so it will go with any colour bike. The suit has just come back from Dainese in Italy where is had a factory repair carried out and a proffessional manufacturer clean so it has no flies or road dirt on it at all. This is a used suit so it does have a couple of marks from use but they are not something that anyone would really notice and overall it looks lovely with unworn sliders ! Looking for around £325 for it which considering the quality is a great buy.
So in a nutshell (and in plain english) how tall would you have to be and how wide across the chest etc etc?
I am 5ft 8" and it fits me fine. A mate who is 6ft also has the same suit and it also fits him fine but the legs are a bit shorter than mine which makes no difference as they are inside the boots. I am about a 38/40 chest and 32/34 waist and the suit is snug. With my aging bones I am just having difficulty getting both zips up as the trick to fastening them is to bend forward and they pull up easily. There are lots of stretch panels and Dainese D-Stone fabric so they will give.
I'm 5'5" but the other dimensions are similar (38/40 chest and 30/32 waist) - I may have to go to a Dainese stockist and try a set on before I commit to anything.
In my opinion your sizes would be ideal as apart from the height you are the same as I 'used to be' until my middle age spread caught up with me and the suit was mega comfortable then ! It is still comfortable now but is a bit tighter around the middle although it is only when pulling the zips up that I notice it.
The Bora suit is not advertised that often on ebay but this morning two of them from the same seller went for over £400 ! Going on holiday on Saturday so this will have to wait until I get back if no one here wants it before I go.
Hello Ian. I'm interested in your suit. I'd appreciate it if you reply on here about it when you're back from your hols and I can send you my email address etc. Many thanks. MB.
