I've just refurbished a set of 848 Aluminum Forged Wheels. Not got the bike anymore. Should I sell them as a set with discs, or sell them separately? What kind of price should I be looking to get ? Many thanks, Bob
For obvious reasons, a front wheel sells more readily especially with discs. Your option hinges on whether you want to be left with a rear wheel kicking around. IMO, although it might take a little longer, sell as a pair but you will I’m sure be hounded to sell just the front. GWS. Andy
What wheels are they exactly? I didn’t think the 848 was offered with forged wheels. Got any pics please?
I'll list these up on the for sale forum later; hopefully tonight once I have taken some photos In answer to some questions: They are black Marchesini forged Ally, no decals as I removed them to get [professionally] repainted. Fit the 848, got them as a spare set to race in the NL endurance race. Not sure what they were originally off. Rear won't fit a 1098/1198 as the hub on those are bigger. Rear will fit other mid-weight bikes [street fighter, monster] Front will fit a load of others too. New bearings, valves, and will look to sell with discs and titanium disc bolts as a complete set. Will list tonight... Hopefully... Bob
I have a couple of sets of these. Front will fit 848/1098/1198/999 blah de blah. Rear came from the hyper S IIRC. Rears fetch pretty good money as rare to find forged small hub wheels.
Ducati 848 Marchesini Forged Aluminium Wheel set with discs. Will fit other bikes. Recently professionally refurbished, includes new wheel bearings and valves, titanium disc bolts. Bought to race and fitted to my 2010 848, now no longer required. Keen to sell as a full set, if no success then I may break up into parts. These parts are often listed on eThief for anywhere between £1k - £1.5k. They cost me over £1k. First offer of £800 secures. I'd prefer local pickup [Hereford]; but will include postage for additional £25. If no offers within two weeks then I'll consider selling separately. Buy the lot and I'll throw in a free socket for the rear wheel! Come and pick them up and I'll pop in a free coffee ! Bob
I've just listed these here [https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/forged-wheels-and-discs.57704/] Many thanks, Bob
If you have £800 stuffed under your mattress that's keeping you awake; then I'll gladly take that off your hands too
