Also corroded black in parts on the road facing side. I would like to restore the factory finish- they were lacquered once and looks like lathe turning rings. How do I get this lacquer off and retain the factory finish .?

All the 'you tubers' are disappointing, then don't pay attention to the detailed ali surface, They seem to just polish them to smooth, cheers for any tips..

  2. They are anodized. The coating gets chipped, allowing water in.Corrosion then starts inside out.Refinishing to factory would be a pain,to say the least.
