Hi all For a project I'm using 999 forks (Showa) and I would like to use a 748-998 5 spoke wheel. As I remember correctly the 749/998 wheel has normally a speedo 'spacer' on the right side. But I don't need it. I will make a new spacer for it. But is there a sizing difference between a 748/916/etc fork and a 999 fork? I think not, but checking to be sure. If I'm right then I would need 10mm offset brake discs (like the 748/916) instead of 15mm
Speedo drive is on the left, looking from sitting on the bike. Not sure of disc offsets but I am sure other people will be able to help.
Some useful stuff here; 848 Forks on a 1997 748....what's needed for the swap? - Ducati.ms - The Ultimate Ducati Forum I currently have 999r ohlins forks on my track bike with a 1098 wheel and discs, which all fits no probs with the 1098 axle spacers. I'm also using the 999 axle. On a previous bike I had 848 forks with a 916 wheel. Different axle spacers where needed on the 848 axle. I used the 916 discs with spacers behind, others have used the 15mm offset 'R' discs. Not sure if any of that helps or is more confusing....:Banghead:
