I would like to know the correct form of a Vin Number for a 1997 Ducati. It is written on the frame as follows: ZDM600*XXXXXX* - (where the XXXXXX are unique numbers). I gave it in that exact form to DVLA but they say they have no record, and perhaps I have made an error and, if so, to return the form with corrections. Should I be entering the VIN number as ZDM600003452 on a DVLA form? Thanks,
my old 748 had the same type of number format but on the logbook the DVLA recorded it as ZDM748S-XXXXXX- instead of using * so may be worth trying that
OK thanks rss851 and Birdie. I'm going to give it a go, one more time. Could you confirm that the log book entry actually has the hyphens, as in 748S-XX ?
OK RXS851 and Birdie, I'll give it another try at the risk of annoying DVLA a teeny bit. They might have told me whether they tried a number format as it should be, or just as I recorded it.
My log book is exactly as I have entered in my earlier post, with numbers where the X,s are of course. Steve
Cheers Birdie. I got it for sure. Knowing that, I'l telephone them I think and ask, to see what they say about what form they used in their search. I'm sure I can get it sorted now. John
For the '95 900SS that I used to own the frame number in the log book was just the 6 digit number from the end. The ZDM900 part was completely omitted.
