It was inside my 2014 Monster 1200S all along. Just waiting there above 7K RPM! Loving it. Approximately 1200 miles in the last month. Still not near its limit Still fear my foot/pegs will scrape in turns like on my old ride. I doubt I have come close. Very comfortable to ride. I test rode an 821. Loved it. All the power I needed. The amount of power this has above the 821 is the same as this has above itself when you go beyond 7K I bought Rosso III's Probably 6-800 miles on them. They are awesome. I cannot identify an area I wish was better. I average around 40mpg. Lets talk quick shifter. I KNEW I didnt need or want one. I was an ASS! Yes I love to rev match as I downshift... I am even decent at it. BUT If you really want to hustle... Not changing your grip AT ALL as you up shift ROCKS! I imagine it would be the same fun for downshifting. Getting that would/will be the only reason I need to upgrade to a later model... Just the other day (In Mexico) I was hustling along... UP and DOWN and was able to overcome both (I am guessing) the Slipper clutch and ABS as i did get the rear wheel to chirp (Mini back it in??) as I down shifted into a corner... Made me so happy it was the closest I have come to a wheelie on the way out. AND Still not as fast as most of you. Rex
I had a Yamaha MT09 SP with a quick shifter . I thought to myself , not much point in it being on their , but completely changed my mind when I started using it amazing fun bit of kit.
I also recently found that I generally carry more speed if I use Sport instead of Touring. I think it is 30% needing to turn the throttle less, and 70% the less engine braking. As I build confidence on this new bike.. and new type of bike I often found the combination of great breaks and engine breaking slowed me down so much for corners it was scary. Almost to being less stable... With the less engine breaking I keep my speed up more in the corners. Rex
I brought a H&M quick shifter for my 2008 fireblade I had a while back it was the best upgrade I've ever fitted to a bike so much fun haven't felt the need for one on my multistrada
Generally I shine the light in my GF eyes... Then go for a ride... Then give her an injection... Then at the end we both celebrate for doing the right thing. So far we are BOTH Virus Free! I mean the WHO did not actually recommend this Exact procedure, but it is working so I will continue to use it. Rex
