Little bird told me today that the 1299 will be offered with free akroprovics on all bikes registered before dec 31 ! Not bad as they are £2600 .
I told my wife about this wonderful offer, she arrived home with all the info for tri options. My biggest problem would be insurance, not had my full licence for a full year yet .
Same here, I had a quote of £2600 for a new 899. Although I'm 23 I've had my licence 5 years, been riding 6 years and have 5 years NCB!
Save a s*it load of weight for one! I weighed my stock silencers from the 899 and they are 7.5kg without the servo and other stuff, I would guess the Akrapovic and Termi are under half that as they are full titanium
I'm sure I read on the website that they add 7% bhp and 7 nm of torque. I do feel that is an ambitious claim to say the least.
Agreed, 7% would be around 13hp which I doubt. Generally Ducati headers are pretty good so it's not like the standard system is a dog. Maybe they add 7% magazine horsepower? We all know that's a different thing
Depends on where the increased performance is being claimed for. Probably not so out of the way mid range and if the Akrapovic advertising claims are similar to Termignoni, it will most certainly not be at peak power. Peak gain will probably no more than 2 or 3 % if you are lucky. Another post has seen peak power drop ! Andy
