These sockets and spanners are surplus to requirements and I need the space. Collection ONLY from Midhurst West Sussex.
I use imperial spanner’s all the time. I work for a yank outfit. Spams fondly imagine ‘their’ system is best… Metric is so much easier. GLWS btw, and how come you ended up with this lot? A bit unusual…
Sad story of a mechanic whose career spanned the dominance of imperial to the advent of metric. He departed and now resides in the workshop above us all. I felt the tools deserved better than languishing unused in my garage.
I served an apprenticeship as a fitter between 81 and 85. I remember being conversant in both metric and imperial. Imperial was still lingering so we had to know both. Not a bad thing
Aerospace fasteners are all still imperial as they are mostly made in US. Of course though for Airbus aircraft they are metricised as they would never admit to using old fashioned outdated stuff…4.8mm, 6.35mm etc…yeah sure, we know that is just the equivalent metric size for 3/16in, 1/4in etc.
I would hang on to that stuff, if Rees Mogg and his pals go full Victorian, they will be in high demand…
I certainly have quite a few AF and other non-metric spanners, if they’re of use to you, and I’m a *little* nearer
I’m afraid I had to bin mine as scrap metal a couple of years back. Could not literally give them away.
