Hello everyone. Have been browsing the forum since my first Ducati, a Monster 796. Now the proud owner of a 1200 Multistrada. Looking forward to getting involved on this great site and eventually meeting other Ducati riders. Rob.
Hi Lucas, I went for the 1200 S Stripe. I had a mutley and a M696+ and wanted something that combined monster character with mutley engine. I test rode the M1200S when it first came out but went for the mutley instead. I loved the mutley but it's just too easy to ride it at wicked speeds. I'd start my ride saying to myself "this is just a little ride so I'll screw the nut" and 30min later I'm up at incarceration speeds. Scotland is big on excellent, quiet roads and I'm low on self control. A dangerous combo. I really liked the little monster but it was underpowered so test rode the M1200S another couple of times and decided it was ideal. A monster with mutley grunt but hard to sustain stupid fast speeds. I got the stripe on 10th December. I had planned to wait until spring but Ducati Glasgow threw in the full termignoni system if you bought in december. I couldn't resist. Got rid of both mutley and M696 to put the money together so down to one bike again. But what a bike. The weather is frustrating the hell out of me though.
The 1200 S was the Monster I think I would have changed for if I hadn't of had a test ride on the Multi and your S stripe is a great looking and brilliant all round bike. When I got my Monster the first thing I fitted was a set of Termis so you done well to get yours in with the deal. By the way when the DP ecu was fitted I had the bike set up on a dyno and the difference it made was amazing. Not cheap but worth it to get rid of the low revs hesitation.
