Hello folk. Being new to Ducati, Its nice to join an owners' club. The bike which brought me in is a 600 super sport, for which I paid not so much. It runs roughly, and so I begin my entrance by sorting out induction - going over air, fuel and timing, as well as the control cables and electrics. Naturally, I think how nice a kick start would be right now…. ANyway, it'll give me something to do over the next week or so.
Thanks for the welcome folks. Well, I 've got the tank innards out, and carbs apart for a good clean. Filthy it is. I mean horrible. Flush caps don't seem to offer the ordinary rider anything except unnecessary rust and the like. I thought they looked sexy when I was a teenager though, riding a Norton - which had nothing like that. There's the saving in wind resistance if you tear off the fairing! Waiting for my Haynes manuel to arrive. I suppose the electric thing bolted into the underneath of the tank, and then wired in parallel to the fuel pump , is the fuel level gauge? I'll put a new fuel filter outside the tank. I'm so very wary, it's exciting. BUt nobody's tried to sell me any belts or leads yet… it's been two days since I got the bike - must be a bit cold for them right now.
