Front Brake, Help Needed...

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Mark Bennett, Jul 12, 2020.

  1. Help needed, my 2006 749 has failed its MOT on a leaky front brake master cylinder and the garage says that brembo don’t do a repair kit, is this true, I have looked on eBay etc and can’t find anything, can anyone help me....

  2. I would be surprised if Brembo had special seals made for their cylinders. I would strip it and see if you can find seals from some other cylinder. They might even have a manufacturer or number on them.

  3. Try a KTM dealer.

  4. Thought Powehouse only did calipers ? Andy

  5. No they do seal kits for loads of cars and bikes, they will also refurbish your calipers

  6. I can’t find any seals for a master cylinder. Andy

  7. Sorry I misunderstood your post!!

  8. Hopefully if we keep posting, someone will turn up with the info you need Mark, KTM could be your best bet when you know the equivalent - have you managed to confirm what type of m/cylinder? is it a Brembo PR18? @Denzil the Ducati @Derek @Sev.

  9. Chris, it is indeed a PR18 front brake master cylinder on the 749/999

  10. Apparently so, I assumed that if they did brembo caliper kits they would do m/cyl kits as well. It seems I was wrong. :(

  11. Thanks for link turbod, sadly no Ducati (or KTM) kits listed. I know there was a KTM that used the same master cylinder as older Ducati but i have a feeling that there isn't a KTM that uses a PR18, I could be wrong.
