I have just got a replacement front brake lever as the end snapped off my old one. In the past, on other bikes, I've just taken the pivot out, cleaned everything, lubed everything and put the new lever on. However this is my first radial set-up. Quick question.... The pivoting pin that actuates the master-cylinder sits in a barrel bearing but is on a threaded shaft so effectively I could screw it in and out which would adjust where in the travel the master cylinder gets actuated (not to confuse this with the reach adjuster). The original pin is threaded but seems "fixed". May be threadlocked, may just be gunk as I've not got into it yet. The new one is very easy to turn. What stops this from vibrating loose and then having no front brake? Should I adjust this to get the best brake feel or just chuck on a bit of threadlock, wind it all the way in and forget about it? For now I've just got a cheepie replacement lever but may get a nicer pair shortly. Any to recommend or to avoid? Don't want to spend too much and don't want too much bling. Alternatively anyone got an original set (or just brake lever) getting in the way I can buy?
Tiny allen screw on the barrel part. Look closely and you'll find it. Undo it and the pin can be screwed .in or out
