After last couple of times riding in rain/wet roads ive found the pads stuck to the disks after being stood, the other day I dried them off by riding up and down the street a couple of times with brake slightly on then put it away in garage, the next morning the front wheel was stuck solid! took me ages to free it then three or four hours later stuck again! what the hells goin on?? god knows what it would be like if left for a week or two. the pads are brembo and are in good order, the last time this happened I took em out gave em a good clean etc...... any help would be grea
Mine would sometimes stick slightly to the disc surface after washing, but never took very much to get them to 'break' free and they weren't dragging when I was riding and I had them checked. I would be interested in others opinions but tbh I don't think it's a bit worry. Can you feel the discs binding when you spin the wheel loose?
Only slightly but nothing I'd worry about, I'm not over worried about it it's just that I work away from home quite a bit so don't want to leave it after a Sunday ride and get back Friday to have to mess with the brakes, also I've never had this on any other bike.
It does it slightly on my 848 Evo with Brembo's and it's only done 700 miles, and my Triumph Daytona did it a lot with Nissin brakes all the time after washing. You can see a 'rust' line on the disc just afterwards so I think it's where the two get sucked together.
Happened on the old Mutley and the new one, only needs a little dampness and they will stick a bit. If its in the garage for a few days I try to remember to just move the front wheel a bit each time I go in there, that way they don't stick hard on one point. Only had the new one stick quite hard once and a few kicks of the tyre moved the wheel a bit and then it was fine. Seems to be just a patch of rust that will form between the disc and the pad, 200 yards of riding and the discs are clean again. Odd but doesn't seem to happen to the rear at all.
