1200 Enduro Front Brake Pads

  1. Anything to look out for changing front brake pads on 1200 Enduro? Many years since I've done brake pads on a bike, and never done an ABS bike.

    TIA

  2. Undo and remove the master cylinder reservoir cap and bladder before you push the caliper pistons back. It’s also a good idea to loosely wrap a rag around the reservoir to catch any fluid splashes. The clearance between the caliper and wheel rim is tight so put a rag over the caliper to protect the paintwork. Depending on your caliper, it’s best to remove the old pads with the caliper in situ. 3. Many thanks.

  4. Ok brake pads arrived, I have the workshop manual "force the pistons apart" (calipers still bolted on) it says after taking old pads out ... I've done many in the past without issue and used various methods but mostly with sliding calipers.

What's the thinking here with this modern Italian stuff?

  5. Correction: "Force the calliper pistons back into their seats by forcing the old brake pads apart."

  6. A bit of gentle levering with various screwdrivers and spanners was the answer, very easy.
