Anyone noticed that during riding the front res wobbles excessively? After a couple of hours it's full of tiny bubbles from all the splashing around. Wondered if anyone has done any mods or simply put in a second bolt somewhere to stop it?
Even better, a live action dramatization of the devastating effects! https://youtube.com/shorts/vx4gUKBZ_hg?feature=share
It's like that to prevent brackets breaking/fracturing due to the suspension and engine vibes, won't do any harm wobbling like that, just don't look at it
Noooo, this was the answer I didn't want haha. Its so annoying, especially seeing all those tiny bastard bubbles
The master cylinder reservoirs on older models don’t wobble like that, so what’s changed? Same vibes, suspension movements yet the old brackets didn’t fracture.
I’m guessing the hand guard moulding that the reservoir is secured to, is plastic ? Can see no other reason why the mounting post isn’t rigid, that’s part of the problem. The 1200 hand guards are much more robust and you don’t get that sort of movement. Andy
I put a Brembo 19RCS on my track bike and needed to make a bracket for the plastic reservoir, made it out of 3mm aluminium, heated to create a couple of slight bends to keep the reservoir level. It broke within a few sessions of the first track day and that's on a smooth in-line 4 on smooth tarmac. Rubber mounted the next bracket, it flops around just like the one on your video but, 4 years later it's still doing its job.
I replaced the OE coffin reservoirs on my 749 track bike with remote reservoirs mounted on 1.6mm thick alloy brackets. I did this over 10 years ago and they are still absolutely fine. I also did the same on my 916 many years ago when I fitted an RCS brake master cylinder. When I sold that I put the RCS brake and bracket on my road 1098R. Still going strong.
