Just bought a V4s dome 3k road miles and the bracket has snapped clean in half . I did think it vibrated & wobbled rather alot but with it being my first Ducati I thought it was just a Ducati thing. Also having intermittent issues whilst in 6th gear, the dash lights up like a Christmas tree and the gear indicator goes blank. Close off throttle lock down a few gears and it’s champion. it’s getting picked up and taking into the dealers. But has anyone else suffered the same? It’s my first post so be gentle with me ✊️
There is now a recall out for this as of today (15/07/24). Local dealer tells me the new part has been redesigned to allow more airflow through it, to mitigate any chances of it being subject to aerodynamic forces that might bend/break it. Sounds like BS to me, as it's behind the plexiglass screen, so maybe it's just a thicker gauge of metal. Machining more slots in it is surely going to make it even weaker. Who knows. Anyhow, I received an email from Ducati today about it and have a new one on order, which bizarrely they have to fit, despite it only involving a couple of bolts that pretty much anyone could undertake, so I guess it's just a warranty requirement that they carry out the 2 minute job.
