Front Fork Cartridge Removal

  1. Looking at possibly fitting some Ohlins NIX FGK 224 into the standard 1199 Marzocchi forks, or if not I will definitely change the oil in the standard forks.

I will need to buy the tool to remove the fork cap and wondered if anyone happens to know if Ohlins cartridge caps and Marzocchi are the same?

I have found this tool on EBay which may fit both?

  2. Rather than go down the obvious route, would it not be worth try Maxton for some suitable, custom built units, I'm sure the cost would be similar ?

  3. I’m open to suggestions now tbh. The Ohlins cartridges I had my eye on ended early. Will likely just dump the old oil and service for now (if I can find a decent stand to enable fork removal !!)

  4. P&H are advertising new cartridges for 799 which I thought was good value. No springs just cartridges

  5. That is a decent price. Have you got a link? Just had a good look at the PH (mobile) site and there was nothing listed under Ohlins at all.

  6. I’ve got nix carts in my base 1299 forks
Iirc you need other tools to fit the carts to the base forks / remove std carts
I have the tool for the caps .
