  1. Or lack of it!!!

First wet ride back from the workshop today and I am horrified at the amount of crud thrown up by the lack of a mudguard at the rear of the tyre, its everywhere. No wonder the electrics suffer on these machines.

What fix are you guys using?

  2. Not riding when it's wet.

  3. Fair weather riders need not apply :)

Is there an extension on the market?

  4. Do you have any type of rear wheel cover/guard at the moment?

There are two types a short guard which is not suited to any wet weather of any type and a longer version which typically has a chain guard too.

  5. Front wheel :Banghead:

  6. they are called " huggers ",, but really you should not be riding in the wet with a class bike like that,, get yourself some old multistrada or bmw type thingy if you want to be all hard !!!

  7. Nothing hard about riding to work, a case of needs must. Its for the front wheel, I already have a rear hugger. I found something on eBay that should work.

  8. go on,, be a devil ,, show us it !!!:)

  9. You'll wish you had been a fair weather rider by the time next spring has sprung, riding a Ducati 749 on salted roads through a UK winter will kill it cosmetically no matter how religiously its cleaned after each ride to work...cherod is right, save yourself some future heartache and get a cheap hack for the trudge to work and save the 749 for the nice weather.

  10. Its the only one that comes up on the ebay search.

  11. I just ordered a fenda extenda. To say don't ride in the rain is nonsense for me. I intend riding this machine as often as possible and if I am out and about and a storm opens I ain't stopping and having it trailered home lol.

Great bike but my god, how finicky, every part is quirky, this is definitely going to be a love/hate relationship.

  12. Ah, but once the quirks are properly addressed by you ... it'll be love :D

  13. I'm not on about riding it in the rain, we all get caught out now and again, its the nasty salty shite they start putting on the roads at this time of year, its highly corrosive and will eat your exquisite wheels/forks and engine casings alive before your eyes...Ducati's just aren't designed to be subjected to that kind of stuff unfortunately, if they were I would be riding mine to work throughout the year as well.
