1200 Front Mudguard

  1. F89E520C-AE76-40F2-85C3-BE330D4D94F6.jpeg So I purchased the Ducati front mudguard extension (which I believe was supplied with bikes when new but not fitted?) Mine didn’t come with one when I bought it so ordered and fitted today as per Ducati Service bulletin (SRV-SRB-19-027) but it fouls the tyre? Am I going wrong somewhere? Tyre is a Scorpion Trail II 120/70/17. Aren’t they the OE tyre?

  2. That cannot be fitted correctly. I can get my hand between my tyre and that mudguard extension on my DVT. Two mins and I will add some photos

  3. Here ya go - mine even has a flap on the bottom too and there is loads of room. Its a brand new tyre too, so it as high as they go

  4. Cheers for that. If I fit mine like yours its ok (see pic) but if you look at the page from the bulletin its not actually fitted correctly?

  5. Mine was fitted when I got the bike, and I'd have to say it looks right enough ? You need space between the tyre and mudguard cos the tyre "grows" in use and will end up tearing that extension off otherwise.

  6. Dunno if it matters but the diagram has the brake line over the extension?

  7. Mine was the same when I picked it up. To the point where the plastic was rubbing through the brakeline and had started on the metal. Can't remember exactly what the issue was but probably the brake line routing. I would suggest taking the extender off and starting again.

  8. Yeah, I suspect those images are meant to be in X-Ray to show the hose routing, rather than a definitive afterview. Mine are underneath and the extender fits perfectly. Page 2/5 bottom right illustration seems to show that better ;)

  9. Can send pictures of my Enduro (that comes with it already fitted) if that would help? I've fitted an extender as well, no rubbing issues.

  10. @HootOwl Did your bike come with the extra flappy bit, or is it an after market addition?

  11. I have been putting off taking the front mudguard off to give the front end a good clean because it looks a right PITA.

  12. It is, comes off a piece of piss, getting it back on is a whole different story!

  13. Both lol - Yes it came with it and yes it is an extra addition :D

I guess the PO had an issue with spray, cos the lower front plug cap is also blathered in silicone sealer

  14. OK thanks. Reason I asked is that some of the extenders I have seen foul the wheel/tyre, whereas the one you have has loads of clearance.

  15. Its just a home made piece of plastic that is just siliconed in place inside the mudguard extension. It is quite flexible. I dont think it looks grossly unsightly so I have left it on just in case that spray issue concern is real ;)

  16. Ah OK thanks, that makes sense.
