Just thought I'd make you early 900SS & SL owners aware that there are two sizes for the speedo seal in the wheel. Now the bad news one is no longer available part # 930 4 004 1A ( the one I had !) fortunately it was ok to reuse. But could have been a disaster. The part that is available is Pt # 000064471 but this will not fit the earlier wheels and speedo drive External dia is 58.25mm Internal 50.3mm I'll post some pics later.
Lucky I have got three, then!! AL PS.....if you are very careful, you can reline them with a large o-ring.
Mine was ok , but nearly binned as I had ordered and received a new one , cause at the time the dealer didnt realise there were two versions.
Yep....sorry old state that the dealers don't know.......but I have written plenty on Ducatisti forum and this one about the two types of carbed SS wheels and the non-interchangeable speedo drives. You can always tell the early wheel from the newer one by looking at the brake disc retaining lip on the speedo drive side of the hub......early wheels the lip is abiout 6+mm wide, and on the later wheels it is about 4mm wide. Use a conventional single lip oil seal. Available on line from seal/bearing suppliers. Measure up and order. The seals have been unavailable for a while now
